The Brookfield Stars Hockey Program was founded in 1991 with Jeff Hiltz as the first head coach. Hiltz established the foundations for a strong high school hockey program, instilling discipline and fostering a competitive spirit in the team.

- Joe Jenke : A standout in these early years (All-Conference and All-State recognition), Joe Jenke progressed to higher levels of hockey, including playing for the Green Bay Gamblers in the USHL, Team Wisconsin, and having a brief career in junior hockey, before dominating at the collegiate level in Rainy River (International Falls, MN), and having a stint in the European Pro Leagues.
- Nick Glander: Another standout, Nick played for the Stars before moving on to play junior in the North American Hockey League for the Soo Indians NAHL program.

Oakie Brumm took over the coaching reins in 1995, continuing to build on the program’s early successes. Brumm’s coaching tenure with the Stars from 1995 to 1998 was marked by his commitment to building the program’s success. He also became an influential figure in Wisconsin hockey, later becoming the owner and editor of The Wisconsin Hockey News. His legacy in hockey coaching spans from local high school teams to international endeavors, and he remains a celebrated figure in both Michigan and Wisconsin hockey circles.

- Lee Jenke: Like his brother, Lee Jenke followed him (All-Conference and All-State recognition), making his mark on the Brookfield Stars before progressing to play for Team Wisconsin. Before heading off to play at Rainy River (International Falls, MN), MSOE (NCAA D3), he later played professionally for the Flint Generals, the Knoxville Ice Bears, before finishing his professional career with the Winston-Salem Thunderbirds.

Head Coaches: Matt Shapiro (2010-2015) & Steve Chapin (2011-2015)
- Matt Shapiro, a former Brookfield Stars player, returned to the program as a coach, instilling the values and experiences he gained from his own hockey career. Steve Chapin joined as a co-coach in 2011, leading the team to several successful seasons.
Notable Players:
- Robbie Fosdick: Another standout, All-Conference and All-State player. After the Brookfield Stars, he played for the Madison Capitols in the USHL from 2014 to 2017, accumulating 152 games with three goals and fourteen assists over three seasons. He served as captain during his final season with the Capitols, recording ten points that year. Following his USHL career, Fosdick committed to Northern Michigan University, where he played NCAA Division I hockey starting in the 2017-2018 season.
- Matt Fosdick: Had an impressive high school career as an All-Conference and All-State defenseman for the Brookfield Stars, where he helped the team make an improbable run to the Wisconsin state tournament. In a standout game against top-seeded Homestead, he scored two goals and added two assists, leading his team to a 7-2 victory. His performance continued in the sectional finals, where his contributions helped the Stars advance further in the playoffs. Under Greg’s leadership, the Brookfield Stars have continued their tradition of success, competing at an elevated level in Wisconsin high school hockey and developing players for the next level. Succeeding off the ice too, the Brookfield Stars won the Team Academic State Award in 2021. In 2023-2024, the Stars reached another milestone, making it all the way to the State finals before losing in the championship game to Notre Dame in a hard-fought 3-1 contest. The 2024-2025 season saw the team earn back-to-back conference titles and return to the state tournament as the top seed, delivering thrilling playoff runs highlighted by dramatic overtime victories and highlighting the program’s depth and resilience.
